5 September - The Dodecanese islands
"It was rather cold when we woke up this morning in the harbor of Rhodes. We had a strong wind during the night and the sea inside the harbor was rough. However, as the sun rose it became warmer and the day seemed very promising with no clouds on sight. After finishing with all the necessary formalities with the harbor police, we left the harbor using one of the Black Night's sails. The sea was very rough and the wind was against us, so we progressed slowlly northwards through the Dodecanese islands. By evening, seasickness had many victims. Despite the difficulties we worked through a session on the cultural dimension of conflict and in the evening we had a session on human rights. Early in the evening we saw some dolphins and everyone was very happy. The night found the Black Night cruising under a starry sky between the Greek islands and the Turkish coast."
