24 August - A day in Jerusalem
"At 5.30 the alarm is ringing. Everybody up on deck! We had to move the boat to another place. Pulling ropes is the best exercise in the morning. We never imagined. After breakfast and the ceremony of the raising of the flag, which is a tradition for the Black Knight when being in harbours, the bus brought us to Jerusalem, where we spent the day.
It was a welcomed and unexpected change and we liked it very much, although the time was quite limited. Nevertheless we could visit the most important sights and the most famous places in the city.
Unfortunately we had an accident with one participant that had to visit the hospital, but nothing severe happened so she could join us again in the night to return back to Ashdod and the boat." |
